“Daytime Divas” Star Camille Guaty Introduces Her Former War Correspondent Character Nina Sandoval

We have a very good feeling that we’ll be spending our summer with the ladies of The Lunch Hour, the fictional daytime talk show on VH1’s brand new scripted series Daytime Divas.

Before the show makes its debut Monday night, the network is giving you a chance to get to know the cast via a series of videos showcasing the talented ensemble and their characters we’ll be introduced to.

Camille Guaty plays Nina Sandoval, a professional, successful, former war correspondent and confident, co-host of The Lunch Hour. Like her co-hosts, Nina is a gem on camera but will stand up for herself backstage even if it means fighting with the women she works with. While the show is in turmoil, Nina is currently figuring out the best way to hide a secret from her future-congressman husband.

“She’s a very serious journalist who has been to war and back and took this job more for her husband than for her in the beginning,” Guaty says.

“Nina is in a job that she thinks is kind of beneath her. She’s working with women that she doesn’t feel are up to her standard. Nina is also in this marriage that’s kind of complicated and this is going to bring out a whole new side to her.”

Watch the video below to see more of what Camille had to say about Daytime Divas, including what viewers can expect to see from her character in episode 2!

Every weekday at noon, Maxine (Vanessa Williams), Mo (Tichina Arnold), Heather (Fiona Gubelmann), Kibby (Chloe Bridges), and Nina (Camille Guaty)—hosts of “The Lunch Hour,” the long-running women’s talk show—gather around the table to discuss life, love, politics, and juicy gossip.

But behind the scenes, it’s even juicier — a backstage world filled with power struggles, diva fits, and steamy affairs. Inspired by the book Satan’s Sisters… A Novel of Fiction by Star Jones, television personality, lawyer and journalist.

The 10-episode first season of Daytime Divas premieres Monday, June 5, at 10pm on VH1.
